I think this is one of the first questions most of the Indian students (and other students who do not have their undergrad score in GPA) have in their mind when they starting their application process (or even GMAT).
Here is the straightforward answer:
Most of the schools do not ask the students to convert their percentage score into gpa. However, they need a grading scale of the university of your undergrad. This grading scale is usually found on the last page of the marksheets or in the transcripts. If its not available there as well, then you can always your university to provide one.
Having said that, I know my fellow applicants (since I have been in the same situation). There is always this anxiety or curiosity to know about the equivalent GPA of their percentage score.
So here is the link of the WES's GPA calculator :
https://www.wes.org/students/igpacalc.aspI found the reference to this website on the Rice University, Jones School of Business.
Jones is one of those rare school which specifically needs your GPAs and they ask us to use the above-mentioned system (calculator) to convert the score.
Hope this help !!!
Have fun guys ...
And yes don't forget the kudos !!!!
