Hi, all. I've been preparing for the GMAT for the last many months and every new month I plan to take the GMAT by the end of the said month, but I always end up delaying it. I am never sure about one particular date to book for the real GMAT. Can someone please guide me as to how one must decide upon a particular date to take the GMAT.
I was planning to take the GMAT by 25th October but now I have realized that I need to give some time to verbal SC, and that could once again mean changing my predetermined date to a further one. I am now thinking of taking the test by 10th November, but that's just a date out of many. Is there a way to be sure that a certain date would be the best one to take the real thing. Please help.

Start taking official mocks. As soon as you reach your target score +- 20 points, you are good to go.
Book an exam 1 week after your last mock and you'll make it.

Hi Louis,
If you are confident about your preparation, then start taking mocks. If you consistently get your desired score in at least 2 mocks, then you are good to book a slot. By consistent, I mean the overall score and the individual breakdowns as well. Hope it helped.
