I have spent 6+ years with the same employer. Do I enter it as 1 employment entry or do I enter each position with the same employer as a different entry?

enter it once unless specified otherwise. i know for wharton it says that you list different positions within the same entry.

Thanks dabots! but then, how do I show career progression? Another thing is I worked for 1.5 years in India and the rest in the US. The starting and ending salaries will have a HUGE difference, when I convert my India salary to dollars. Any thoughts?

ncprasad, I faced the same problem with my company, 6+ years in one company only.

For Stanford I filled out one employer, and used the 350 CHARACTERS (yes, characters, NOT words) to describe my responsibilities, challenges and accomplishments (350 characters each). It was tough, but when I did it, I realized any more words is just extraneous.

For Haas, I'm filling it out as one... I forgot what the format is, but I think I got enough in there to show progression... it was a bit tricky. I hope my resume will show them progression better than the work history input. They can't expect people to show all progression in the tiny space they give!

The question I have for Haas is how DETAILED of a part-time work experience from college do they want?

I listed positions within the same employer separately (always using the same employer name, though). I had to actually merge 2 positions into one (they were closely related, anyway) because there's a limitation in number.

I'll revisit it when I'm done with essays and just waiting for people to review them... right now I just want to get somethign in there in case I run out of time at the end...
