Hi all!
I scored 730 in 2019. Trying for a higher score now, as my biggest weaknesses back in 2019 were SC and Geometry [33% accuracy, nice]. Thought GMAT Focus would be a perfect opportunity.
Prep I've done so far:1. TTP - 100 hours of Quant fundamentals & tests. Feel like it gave me a good refresher of the most concepts.
2. OG Question banks - bought all vailable questions and practice them in sets of 21, 7 of each difficulty. Averaging 90% accuracy now.
Mocks:1. 5th of January - 675 [V89, Q81, DI 80]
2. 10th of January - 665 [V90, Q83, DI 71]
My biggest problems:1. Massive difference between doing quant in OG Practice and in exam - in practice I can comfortably manage time, and feel comfortable answering most questions. I usually make 1-2 mistakes from a set of 21 [7 of each difficulty]. However, during a Mock each question is a struggle. Either i) there is a big difference in difficulty or ii) I am having massive anxiety attacks when starting an exam?
2. Being pressed for time in Quant - probably as continuation of the previous point, I also feel pressed for time in Quant, whereas I do not when practicing OG questions timed.
3. Need to improve DI - I never practiced for it, as I thought it's just an offshoot of Quant, but my large score variance indicated that I need to give it a bit more time.
My approach:1. Practice all Quant questions timed, and try to keep myself under two minutes for each. Understand how I can do it better for questions where I took more than 2 mins.
2. Study concepts I make mistakes on in more depth - e.g. going through GMAT Ninja YouTube series, which I find helpful.
3. Actually study materials on DI [on this forum & TTP], and practice as many questions as possible, timed.
Any advice from more experienced members on:1. Whether youy also find actual Quant Mock questions harder than OG Practice questions?
2. How you have prepared for DI?
3. Any time management / speed improvement exercesises I should be doing?
