How have people asked MBA schools to allow them to do a skype interview instead of an inperson one?

Hey carterjo , All you need to do is send an email to the admission committee stating why you don't wanna take in person interview and request them for a Skype interview. I think this would do. All the best

It depends on the policy of the school. Some schools offer local interviews with alums some on-campus interviews. Usually you will have some say, but I would try and follow the guidelines. If you really need (have a good reason) for a skype interview, reach out to the school and see if they can accommodate you. Make sure you have a reasonable reason in advance in case they probe

Usually you set your preference up front-- so it is not ideal to switch in mid stream just because it adds some extra logistics for the school-- but I don't see that as necessarily harming your case. I would just reach out to the school if you need to switch-- and be ready to offer a reason if asked. If you do need to switch- do it as soon as possible as it helps to give the school time to adjust.
