Hi HWPO,

The type of 'sectioning' you're talking about really comes down to drawing just 1-2 'line segments' to separate your work from one question to the next. That's not a particularly time-consuming task (and with just a little practice, you can build it in to how you work through each GMAT question - re: after you finish a prompt, simply draw a line around your prior work, which will create the 'border' that you want before you start your next question). In that way, the amount of work that you do on the prior question won't be an issue; you'll just use whatever space you need.

hi Rich, I am not quite sure I understood you. Could you upload a picture or something - just so we can have a visual of the example you mentioned, please?

Thanks!

Hi HWPO,

We can actually use the work that you've done on a recent CAT to showcase what I'm describing (even if it's from a page of Quant work). If you'd rather not include that attachment in the thread here, then you can feel free to PM it directly to me.

Hi HWPO,

For verbal, I actually would not do anything to “set up” your booklet. As you mentioned, since there are 3 different questions types and those question types are presented randomly, trying to set up your booklet before being presented with those questions could get a bit confusing. Rather, just take each question as it comes. For SC and CR, you’ll find it helpful to mark your pad with A, B, C, D, E, so you can eliminate each wrong answer and for RC you’ll want to have room to take notes as you read through the passage.
