Hey folks I really want to get the skill required for verbal . I’m not even bothered about the score I’ll be give gmat i don’t know when but I want to learn verbal from scratch - reading comprehension, critical reasoning ,vocabulary . Guide me a step by step process on how to do it ?
My friend, if you really want to "learn verbal," the secret sauce is simple: develop a solid reading habit. It will take care of comprehension, reasoning, vocabulary... and generally transform you into a much more confident and interesting individual.

I am copy pasting below something I had written on my blog a long time back. It's just as relevant today. See if this helps. But if you are looking for shortcuts, this isn't it. Nothing worth having comes easy, right? :)

................reading is like a gym session for your brain. The more you read, the stronger your verbal muscles get! Here’s a fun, step-by-step process to get you started:

  1. Find Your Flavor:
Pick topics or genres you genuinely enjoy. Whether it’s fiction, non-fiction, blogs, or even comics—start with what grabs your attention. It shouldn’t feel like a chore!
  2. Daily Dose:
Carve out 15–20 minutes each day just for reading. Consistency is key, and even a short, daily session can make a big difference over time.
  3. Mix It Up:
Once you’re comfortable, challenge yourself with materials that are a bit more complex—think editorials, research articles, or thought-provoking essays. This helps sharpen your comprehension and critical reasoning skills.
  4. Vocabulary Vault:
Keep a small notebook or use a vocabulary app. Jot down new words, look them up, and try to use them in your everyday conversation. It’s a fun way to gradually expand your word bank.
  5. Summarize & Share:
After each reading session, take a minute to summarize what you read. You can even chat about it with friends or join online discussion forums. Explaining ideas out loud reinforces what you’ve learned and boosts retention.
Remember, mastering verbal skills is a marathon, not a sprint. Build your reading habit, enjoy the journey, and watch your skills grow naturally. Happy reading!

Hope this helps. PM me if you need a list of 10 things you can start reading immediately. I want you to make some effort :)

Hi Ayovirgin, GMAT does not really test candidates on vocabulary. So, I would not suggest that you memorize thousands of cryptic words and their meanings, for the purpose of GMAT.

For Critical reasoning from scratch, I would recommend our Critical Reasoning book Critical Reasoning Nirvana, which starts from the very basic and then delves on to advanced topics.

After reading the book twice (yes! it's an academic book, and so must be read twice in all seriousness, to reinforce the concepts), you will start looking forward to solving CR questions!

If you want to sample a chapter before deciding to go ahead with our book, please DM me your mail-id (along with the chapter that you would like to sample) and we will be happy to send that chapter to you by mail.

p.s. The book is available on Amazon and Flipkart.
