Hello everybody,
I'm having a hard time studying for the Quant section of the GMAT due to my embedded fear of maths. I haven't done any in years and must admit I never paid much attention or even put much effort into it (which i REGRET now). I started with the Princeton Math Workbook and understand the concepts but never seem to apply them to questions. I've basically refreshed (learned) the concepts but can't seem to take the next step.
Any ideas on what to do next? or if I should start over with a new technique (ie not reading through the book, taking notes and answering question, then reviewing notes and redoing questions)? I still have a few months ahead but need to score about 650 so I'm feeling the pressure.

There's only so much you can learn reading from a book about how to do math. The best way to learn math is to do math -- or watch someone else do the math and learn from it.

Also, make good use of smart repetition -- repeat or redo questions in random order to keep your brain on its toes.

Frequently this struggle with Math motivation is due to a weakness in fundamentals. It's hard to get really excited about hard GMAT math problems if you struggle with some of the more basic concepts that will go wrong along the way. I don't know if this is accurate in your case, but if it is, I recommend a trip back to the basics. You can find prep materials that specialize on fundamentals and you can also find content on the web that makes you practice basic concepts (i.e. getting faster at arithmetic, multiple repetitions on fundamental algebra). Once you have the fundamentals down, it's easier to learn the more difficult concepts. Learning and seeing performance improve can be very motivating...
