Hello aim-high,
Many people have reported the
MGMAT guides to DS are sufficient for his/her prep.
Practice is important, but how you approach the problems is more important. When solving DS questions, you want the avoid the "brute force" approach, or solving the problem directly. DS problems can usually be broken down and simplified to get at "what is the question really asking?". If you are able to grasp this, DS problems will stop looking so foreign.
Please see the strategy post (link in my sig) for a full write up on DS problems.
Best of luck,
aim-high
Hi,
I am sure this question has been asked a million times here. I have started my GMAT with Manhattan guides. My quants preparation is going good and I have finished 3/5 Quants books. At the end of each book there is a chapter on DS. I am going through them everytime I complete a book. Everything that I have learnt about PS is sticking in my mind really well except for DS. So I am trying to understand what materials or books should I read to get a good understanding on how to solve DS problems. I totally understand that practice.. practice.. practice is the key but which of the prep books or materials cover this.
After Manhattan quants, I am going to go through Official guide 12th edition and Official guide quants review. Are these books enough to understand the overall concept of DS
Please advise.
