Hey buddies!
I started my GMAT Journey about one week ago.
Normally I have very good grades but it shocked me how difficult some parts of the GMAT are for me.
All the time I hear/read that is not about spending as much time as possible solving problems or trying to memorize solutions, but rather understand concepts and improve approach/strategy.
Really, everytime I get an answer wrong I try to look what went wrong and note it any try to repeat the rule/strategy/whatever...
I don't seem to feel more secure doing the next questions then....in other words... I don't feel like progressing...
HOW DO I make sure I progress??

To begin with, follow your topic specific practice with some practice(on the same topic)
and see if the process you have just learnt works for you.
I would suggest you to buy the GMATPrep tests(EP1 and EP2) along with
the free tests(available on the mba.com website). In addition to these tests
you should subscribe to GMATClub tests to improve your Quant score.
Though, there is no sure shot way to find out if you have progressed, the GMATPrep tests
taken from time to time should give you a clear indication on where you stand!

Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores, so since you've been studying for just one week, so you shouldn't expect to have 'mastered' any part of this yet. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) What materials are you using?
2) Have you taken a practice CAT yet? How have you scored (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
Goals:
3) What is your goal score?
4) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
