Hi
I am doing CR questions and have observed that I donot get the full meaning of the sentences in the first go. Infact my mind is almost blank about what i just read. And this is happening in all 3-4 sentences of the CR.
Because of this I have to read the sentences 3-4 times before i am able to get the gist of what the sentence is trying to convey. Due to this, I am having trouble remaining under timelimit of 2 mins. Many times i am taking upto as high as 5:30 mins.
Kindly suggest how to read sentences so that I can get the meaning in first reading itself.

I had a similar issue when I was preparing for the GMAT.
The approach I used to solve it was to slow down reading and get myself to understand sentences the first time I read them. Initially, doing so felt uncomfortable. I really felt comfortable reading the sentences over and over. However, eventually, I got used to understanding the sentences on the first read.

May help to practice grasping the meaning of one sentence at a time instead of the entire passage as a block. Working on a reading methodology that promotes absorption could also be helpful.
