I am planning to take GMAT in 2 months. I am really getting tensed up because my verbal is in low 30s and Math in 40's. Please let me know if you have any advice on what books to prepare for Math in a higher level to improve my score to 10 points at least. Also, my verbal is bad, especially CR and SC. Please advice. Thanks so much!! I appreciate your help.

I am moving this to the GMAT forum.
1. Did you keep an
error log of your mistakes while working on your prep?
i strongly advise that you keep one. Make it a rule that whenever you get a problem wrong OR whenever you take a lot of time to solve a problem , write it down in a
Error Log. Be sincere about this log and go over this log every day before you begin your prep. Once you clearly understand the errors that you made, you might never do it again.
2. I will strongly advise you to participate in the forums here. We have a lot of resources to improve your basics. I say this all the time, but there is no simple or hard question at GMATClub. if you have a gmat question, post it here.
3. Tell us what your problem areas are in Quant. I will try to address those problem areas by posting relevant questions here.
4. for sentence correction and CR, did you take a look at the questions discussed in this forum. Did you see the posts in our Verbal Lessons forums. I am sure , many will agree here, the best way to learn is to "teach". Its perfectly ok to be wrong. We are fortunate to have members who are more than willing to take time to help you.
5. Whenever you feel confident, start timing yourself in your practice. that IS your real ability. GMAT is more about handling the pressure and the anxiety. I have been around this forum for a long time now and there have been so many test experiences where the guys said, i got confused, i got tense and i panicked. The gmat is designed to throw you off with intelligent questions. To see through the questions on your actual gmat, you will need to be calm even if you see a question that you cannot solve.
The level of problems here might be a bit advanced. but i will promise you this. the gmat will come up with innovative ways to ask you simple questions. The whole idea of this forum is to discuss and learn. Knowledge is best retained when you struggle hard to learn it. This forum is for gaining that kind of knowledge.
6. Also remember that if you miss easier questions, GMAT will penalize more. so , you got to keep practicing on those seemingly simple questions. Your aim should be to be alert and concentrate very hard on every question. Dont think about 700+ , just one question at a time.
7. Resources.
- for hard questions, i have no doubt gmatclub is the place.
- you also might want to look at the Challenge Series from
Manhattan GMAT. those are tough problems, but might be worth looking. I recommend these as it consistent with our philosophy of learning.
- Study the tips and lessons in our Math and Verbal forums
- for sentence correction, first learn a lot of basic grammar rules,
https://www.bartleby.com
- for CR - try to work on LSAT problems. they are better and will help you improve.

Finally, i will repeat. Keep an
Error LOG. Keep updating it no matter how many mistakes you make. Make an excel sheet , classify your errors and see what errors you do most. then forumlate a strategy based on those.
You are welcome to ask more questions. We will try to help as far as we can.
Hope this helps
