Hello guys,

I took the GMAT last month and scored a 690 (Q46, V39, IR 2/8, AWA 4/6). I plan to apply in Business Schools in France.

I am a non-native speaker. I am happy with my first GMAT's overall score, especially with my verbal score (89th percentile), and I am fairly happy with my quantitative one (67th percentile).

However, I scored a 4.0 in AWA and I totally bombed IR, and only got 2 out of 8 (12th percentile).

I am retaking the GMAT tomorrow; I really do not know whether I should keep my second GMAT's score (tomorrow) if I score below 690 (660-670-680), even if I score for example 4 in IR (and around 4.5 in AWA).

Do you think it is worth it to keep a lower overall score if I slightly improve my IR/AWA ? Is a 4 in AWA / 2 in IR really bad?

What would you guys do if you were me? At what score would you keep it/cancel it ? (apparently now it is totally possible to cancel the score without having to mention it to B-S)

Thanks so much

I think I replied to your post. NO I am sure I did, may be you posted the same on other threads too...

Man thanks for caring! I scored 680, but my IR went from 2/8 to 7/8, so I decided to keep the score. Do you think I took the good decision or not?

Hey alex06,

There is not much of a differnece in 680 and 690, but IR has improved significantly. So I think you took the right decision.
What were your breakups in both the tests?

Hey OptimusPrepJanielle!

1st GMAT I scored Q46/V39/IR 2 : 690
2nd GMAT I scored Q43/V40/IR 7 : 680

What do you think? Since I have already sent my application, they will not consider my 2nd score unless I ask them to go into their database to check for the 2nd score: do you think I should tell them to do so or not?

cheers :)

If you have sent your official scores after your second GMAT to the school, then they would receive both the scores.
