Hi LupiLapi,

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day did not go as well as hoped. From your analysis, you seem to understand that your initial studies were not planned out real well - and by extension, you will likely need a specific plan and a consistent study routine to hit your Score Goal. It's not clear how quickly you might improve once you are following a proper Study Plan, but raising a 470 to a 600+ will likely take at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study - and you'll have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. While that probably won't line up real well with your application timeline, you have to remember your REAL Goal - to get into your first-choice Business School. If you don't have a competitive-enough GMAT Score and overall application, then an application deadline does not matter.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) What were the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for your Official GMAT Score (the 470)?
2) What Business Schools are you planning to apply to?
3) What is the next application Round AFTER the one in 6 weeks?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hey guys, last week I took my GMAT exam and only got 470 point (Target was 650+), this poor performance is not a surprise to me. Why? I´ll explain it to you:

Approx. 2,5 months ago I started with my GMAT preparation. I bought the Manhattan Prep books and just went trough them..book after book (I didn't make any study plan)... I didn't do any CAT before starting the prep and also not while I was preparing. After I finished the books, there were about 3,5 weeks left till the test day and I took my first CAT. I thought I am very well prepared, but I this was obviously not true. I got 460 on my first CAT. Then I got really nervous. 2 days later I took the next one, and I got 510. Within the two days I solved some problems of the wiley books. I continued to do 2 CAT per Week till the test day. The last CAT was 560 and I knew that I will of course not hit my target score. However, I went to the test today and got 470.

My CAT results:
1. 460 (29Q/26V)
2. 500 (35Q/24V)
3. 520 (34Q/28V)
4. 450 (30Q/22V)
5. 520 (34Q/28V)
6. 560 (37Q/30V)
Test score: 470

What should I do now? The application deadline of my target school is in approx. 6 weeks. Is it possible to boost my score to at least 600+ in just 4-5 weeks? If yes, how?

you definitely can ! how many hours of total focus can you devote each day ?
