Good questions. Here is my take on it (my 2 cents) ...
- Does GMAT considers "Negative" divisors or factors. In other words, if question does not specifically says "positive integral divisors", should we consider "negative divisors"? Same question about greatest common divisor (GCD).
>> We cannot have negative integers as divisors or factors. Say for 5, the divisors are 1 & 5 (not -1 or -5)
- Is 1 and n co-prime where n > 1 and is whole number. What is GCD(1,n)?
>> Could you please explain more? I didn't get the co-prime part.
- What is GCD(-10, -8)?
>> I doubt whether we could get a GCD for negative numbers. In that case, should we treat it as positive and take that one?
- Can quadratic equation ever have "non-real" roots. For example in incorrect answer option.
>> In GMAT all numbers are real. No imaginary numbers. I read this in some 'Directions' section.
- If question talks about fraction x/y, can we assume y <> 0?
>> I guess this was also in the Directions section. Divisible by zero is undefined and need not take that into account.
