I got only 4 quant questions wrong, yet was in the 43rd percentile

Question

Attached you can find a screenshot of the quant section of my GMAT Focus. I did not review or edit any questions in the end and also had some streaks of correct questions, which Is why I do not understand why I only scored in the 43rd percentile.

Unfortunately, the algorithm on the adaptive test works this way. Quoting  GMATNinja  "It's more important what you miss than how many you miss, If you miss the easy ones, You're toast." Try comparing this with other sections where you got initial questions correct. You'll yourself discover the answer.

Those missed must have been the high difficulty level ones. That may be the reason.

The difficulty level of the questions attempted may have been part of the reason. Consider checking out the Understanding Your Score page; it mentions 3 factors Quant scores are based on. There is also some myth vs. fact info (e.g. in the beginning of the Official-Guide 2024) you may also find interesting.

I believe (maybe mistakenly) is that the main reason for the lower scores is careless errors, so make sure you stay on top of those to avoid making simple mistakes in simple questions.
