In Episode 4 of our GMAT Ninja CR series, we tackle the most intimidating CR question type: Boldface & "Legalese" questions. If you've ever stared at an answer choice that reads, "The first is a consideration introduced to counter a position that...
Most GMAT test-takers are intimidated by the hardest GMAT Verbal questions. In this session, Target Test Prep GMAT instructor Erika Tyler-John, a 100th percentile GMAT scorer, will show you how top scorers break down challenging Verbal questions..
I finished using TPR's Cracking the GMAT 2007. I found math problems in Bin 4 (the most difficult) fairly ok, I solved most of them correctly with only 2 wrong...
I finished Barron's (the book was horrible!) and its math was easy.
I attempted 1000 DS and PS (didn't do all) and they were easy (except for a few last questions).
OG math was easy.
Took free online practice tests for TRP and Kaplan, their math was ok.
Manhattan Prep math was hard overall but I don't think they're representative of actual GMAT math.
I really have no problem solving math problems from books of the like TPR, Kaplan, etc.
However, I find GMATPrep math fairly difficult and don't finish in time.
I have a bunch of math problems that I can attempt (I just solved 31 of them and got 1 wrong...) but I have this feeling that this won't help me prepare for GMATPrep (i.e. for the real thing)...
What's the point of solving these problems if I find GMATPrep math difficult? Before taking GMATPrep I had solved hundreds of problems and most of them correctly...
I know that I'm weak in number properties and complex arithmetic (those remainder/divisor DS problems) but I can't find hard enough ones to help me...
I just don't know how to get to that next level... mechanically solving another set of 1000 problems doesn't seem like an effective (and efficient) idea...(maybe I should pick and choose number property and hard arithmetic problems and only do them)
(btw, my math scores for GMATPrep 1, 2 were 50 and 49. In GMATPrep 2 I couldn't finish in time and in 1, I had a few lucky guesses..was running out of time)
Time management could be an issue here but even if I'm able to solve 1000 PS problems each in less than 2 min, it wouldn't make me solve other, more difficult GMATPrep questions in less than 2 min.
I ordered Kaplan 800. I'm looking forward for good, challenging, real-gmat like problems in that book.
I think I should do the challenges. (need 100+ posts more to get free access! <- is this policy still valid?)
Anyone in the same boat as I am?
(from solving other problems u feel you're ready but when you actually sit for GMATPrep u find out that you really aren't...that feeling of despair...what have I been doing...)
Please advise.
*I'm sorry if I sounded like I'm whining...

I have the same problem. I got 48 on both my GmatPrep exams and 49/50 on the Powerprep, which we know is easier. It seems to be tough to break the 48/49 and get to a 50/51.
I am doing the challanges these days. There are a lot of number properties questions there, and also std. deviation concept questions. I am hoping to do the Gmat soon in the next few weeks so time will tell if they are helping.
If you feel your weakness is in numerical properties I have no idea how you did well on the Kaplan test, unless your weakness really isn't that weak. Despite getting the first 9 questions right, I only got a 36 due to mass amounts of numerical property questions I got wrong.

I somehow obtained the CD content CATs and tried them on my computer. I got an error message (windows error) and it pisses me off. Maybe I should buy their book and try the CD.
I ordered Kaplan 800. Does it have a lot of number properties problems?
