I have left high school more than 15 yrs ago and I have not touched any maths since. Therefore, my math skills are totally horrible and I would equate myself as being an idiot at maths. My profession does not require maths skills instead verbal skills are essential.
Now, does anyone with similar problem at maths stand a chance at scoring a reasonable 580-600 at GMAT? I really wonder, am I alone on this problem with maths?? [/b]

Not alone I guess - but most of the potential MBA students have some kind of Math background.
A good place to start is with the Official Guide 11 Edition.
How bad is your Math phobia ? The basics are very easy to cover and a score of 600 on the GMAT could be obtained by a strong verbal score (i.e. Q32 V43).
