Sorry, but this is going to end up being a vent. I've been wanting to get my MBA for years and the GMAT is standing in my way.
Credentials:
Masters in Mathematics (GPA 3.7)
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (GPA 3.9)
5+ years in engineering field for fortune 100 company, with project management history
I'm wanting to go flex, so the locations are slim, and my local schools all require a 550+ score. Sounds easy right? No.
Over the course of the past 1 year, I have taken the test 3 times. purchased all of the books (8+). Been to maybe 15+ private tutoring sessions, GMAT test prep in (princeton and veritas), and at least 30 practice tests.
Scores:
1. 490 w. 6
2. 500 w. 6
3. 500 w. 6
Practice tests result in the same scores. I'm not stupid. There are just so many tricks and variances to this test that I cannot maintain all at once. It's quite funny the responses my tutors give me, as I should be getting outstanding scores. What do I do? I went and talked to the dean of my top local school and just laid it all out on the line how it's ridiculous that the GMAt is holding me back. Obviously no matter how much more practice I have, I don't believe my mind is capable of all that information. I honestly don't care about the rate comparison between Johny and jimmys driving distance from alabama to oklahoma whenthe product of jimmys speed goes from 2x of etc etc etc.
Do I take the test again? Obviously I will never do well.
Please. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
