What are your target schools?
The list you compiled looks great. Since you're an engineer already, you might think about hitting the verbal section harder than the quant. I suspect quant is rather easy for you.

Hello All,

I am new to this forum too. Well, I have been reading the posts here since past few weeks but I registered today :)

I'd like to take GMAT also. To get an idea of where I'm at, I took the practice GMAT test on manhattangmat.com and scored 600 (44Q/30V). After reading a lot of posts here, I have compiled following list of books that I'd like to use. My target score is 720+. Plz review this list and let me know if I should add/delete a few. Thanks :)

1. The Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review - Graduate Management Admission
2. The Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review - Graduate Management Admission
3. The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 11th Edition - Graduate Management Admission Council
4. Sentence Correction GMAT Preparation Guide (Manhattan GMAT Preparation Guides) - Manhattan GMAT Prep
5. Number Properties GMAT Preparation Guide (Manhattan GMAT Preparation Guides) - Manhattan GMAT Prep

My background:
Undergrad: Chemical Engg from India (2001)
Grad: Chemical Engg from USA (2005)
Presently: Working as a Software QA Engineer
Future: I'd be doing part-time MBA.

Frankly speaking... I have not given that a serious thought yet J. Allen. My major constraint is that I cannot enroll in school full-time. I am located around Boston... I have few very good business schools near this place. So it'll be one of those (provided they accept me :))

Right now I'm only concentrating on making my application as strong as possible - and a good GMAT score is my first step.

I agree with you that I should concentrate more on verbal (I suck at it). What additional resources do you think might help me? Thanks for replying!

Find the RC1000 and CR1000. The more you do the better off you'll be. Also, search around here for guide's peopel have written (guide = post saying their best advice).

I'm off work in an hour, I'll post more then.
