ok, i signed up for the 9/15 GMAT at 8am. i'm not really much of a morning person but it's all they had available on saturday (over the next 2 months) and it's tough for me to get off work during the week.
i started studying a week or so ago. so far i've taken:
GMATPREP 1: 660 (48Q, 38V - or was it 36?) (before starting to study)
POWERPREP 1: 720 (49Q, 40V) (earlier this week)
i think most people in here said that POWERPREP may be a little easier. I also have princeton and kaplan and will be getting manhattan soon for practice. i plan to take 1-2 practice tests per week. looks like everyone in here says that the kaplan one is too hard but i'll probably take them anyway for practice.
i'm sure this is typical but my biggest problem is that on verbal, i can usually narrow down the answer to 2 (or 3 at worst) possible answers. at that point, i have to make an educated guess (usually one may stand out a little more or i just feel better about one of them). i go through the same thing in the Quantitative DS section.
this basically means that at this point, with a little luck i may be at 700+. but with a little bad luck, i'm under 700.
my goal for the next 6 weeks is to reduce the number of uncertainty. i know that's easier said that done.
anyway, i'm not sure if there's much of a point to this post other than any advice anyone might have to prepare over the next 6 weeks. i can devote 1-2 hours per day during the week and 2-4 hours on weekends.
RVD.
