Hello:
Today was my second attempt at GMAT. First one was alright, given that my brain literally froze due to over-the-limit intake of caffeine. So this time, it was vitamin, sourdough bread and eggs. Worked out fine. Also, the tip about Gatorade and cold water face wash? work like a charm. I'm gonna use them again.
After the first test, I prepared for 2 months. This time, I really focused on concepts rather than just solving problems left and right. I felt REALLY confident, actually confident to the extent that I would be getting at least 700.
But NO.
Quant: I was pinched on time as usual, but finished everything. Ended up with raw score 1 higher than the last one. Because I am always short on time, I never feel great after the section. But the raw score has been higher than 45 but i'm still trying to push it higher.
Verbal: This was where my posterior was attacked. I felt GREAT during the test. The RC was easy (maybe it was easy because I missed prev. Qs?) and SC was decent.. nothing stunning.
At the end, the raw score was
6 lower than the previous one.
Summing all up, the total score -- 40 lower than the last.
I couldn't get why. I thought I aced the verbal. I know I was weak on CR, but I thought I made it up on SC and RC. I came home tired, but couldn't even take a nap cuz I was so damn mad. I am starting to question my ability to judge a correct answer.
For verbal gurus out there:
How do you prep for CR? I bought
MGMAT CR and Powerscore CR. They talk about stuff but nothing really applicable.
I'm open to any suggestion on improving verbal and quant. As far as the rest of the day goes, I will stay mad !!
