I am struggling heavily on the GMAT and I need advice? I got 20 dollars a week to spend towards GMAT( not a rich guy). I am using the Official GMAT guides to help me, what else should I do? Any cheap, good tutors?? The Official Guides and this website's forums aren't good at explaining answers to the questions presented in the guide, so what should I do?

ironsheep - I hope you are doing well.

Did you take a practice test? If yes, what is your baseline score? If your baseline score is very low, you still have to study a lot of new concepts and build a strong strategy to tackle each question type. That said, I would highly recommend that you enroll in a structured online course rather use materials and free tutorial videos available online.

Ya, I would need to do a practice test( from the Official GMAT website) and then maybe I would need a tutor( the problem with online courses is that I personally need a tutor or else I won't understand what concepts are being explained in class online).

Also, the college I want to apply to requires that I have two letters of recommendation and I have none so far, so what should I do--- start volunteering or getting a job just for a letter of recommendation?

Hello ironsheep

GMAT is not as easy as we assume. GMAT math is logic, and GMAT verbal is a real test of English as a language. So we recommend you to look for reliable resources.

If you haven’t appeared yet for any test, we will recommend you to visit our website https://www.mathrevolution.com.

Also, check our free trial pack and free video lesson as it will solve your purpose to some extent.

If you are good with the basics of math, you should start solving as many as questions you can. But, if you feel about learning the basic, we will recommend you our "Math Review" (5-hour lesson). These videos are for reviewing basic math, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and word problems.

Considering your target score as 700, remember various possible combinations to achieve a score of 700 or above: V37/Q50, V39/Q49, V43/Q45.

Apart from this, you require unique and alternative approaches to solve quant questions in a short period, and up-To-Date questions that meet GMAT exam trends.

Our experts will be there to help you. Also, you should check this forum for some reliable resources related to verbal. Gradually, with the help of mock tests, you will be able to track your performance.

Let us know if you have further questions.

You can reach us at info@mathrevolution.com

Success is within your reach.

Good luck!

I took at practice test on the GMAT website and got a score of 450 with 18 percentile. That practice test was very difficult. Finally, any idea on how I can get letters of recommendation? I don't know anyone personally. Should I start volunteering?
