I plucked this off the begineers forum and I'm posting it here to generate more discussion.
At Consolidated Foundaries, for a resolution to become policy, a quorum of atleast half the directors must pass the resolution by at least a two-third majority. At a meeting of the board of directors, did the resolution X pass or fail?
1) Ten directors voted for the resolution.
2) Seven directors voted against the resolution.
Does the word 'for' in statement one meant the number of people who voted, or does it meant the number of people who voted in favor of the resolution? :wink:
