I scored terribly on the Manhattan GMAT CAD Practice Test #1. I'm currently taking the online course and feel like it's not really helping. I'm finding myself taking much longer on the fundamentals aspect of the math. Did anyone else score badly and was able to significantly increase their score? I'm working my way through the MGMAT FDP strategy book and pushing through the lessons of the online course for now. Any strategies that anyone could provide, would be helpful!

Reach out to your MPrep instructor! They'll be able to give you some advice on changing the homework. If you're starting at a 400 level, and that actually reflects your current ability, that's fine - but it does mean that a lot of what happens in the classroom will probably feel tough for you right now. If you were in my class, I'd probably tell you to ignore the standard Quant homework for now and focus only on Foundations of Math and the 'easier' quant homework in Atlas.

Hi cinderella07,

I was in a similar situation during my initial preparations. Do remember that Manhattan GMAT practice tests are a notch tougher than the actual GMAT. Manhattan prep test's Quant section is one of the toughest so please do not get disheartened by your score in them. If you are looking to improve your performance in verbal specially in SC and RC, I would encourage you to consider e-gmat verbal online or the e-gmat verbal live course. They are both amazing courses and cover the syllabus very well. They offer almost 25% of their courses for free so you can try out their free trial to decide which one you want to go for. Plus the e-gmat Scholaranium which is included in both the courses is one of the best verbal practice tools in the market.

Further if you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in quant; a subscription to GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them.

Lastly I would also encourage you to purchase the latest version of OG and the verbal review for some great additional practice. Here is a link that will help you with your decision.

Hope this helps. All the best.
