Hi khushimahesh.

People's names have different forms, and people whose names are in uncommon forms sometimes are not sure about how to enter their names on their GMAT registrations.

So, the key consideration when entering your name on your GMAT registration is that whatever you enter MUST MATCH EXACTLY what appears on the ID you are going to use. Otherwise, they simply won't let you take the GMAT.

Meanwhile, unfortunately, since your test was canceled right as you were meant to start taking it, it's unlikely that you'll get a refund or a free rescheduling.

Hi khushimahesh,

I'm sorry to hear that you were not allowed to take the GMAT as scheduled. Unfortunately, the policies in place to confirm your identity on Test Day dictate the name on your identification must match with the name on file. Any notable variation in the names could mean that someone else might attempt to take your Test in your place - and viewed in terms of Exam 'security', that possibility simply cannot be allowed.

You can (and should) reach out to Customer Support for a refund, but it's not likely that you will receive one (as an aside, you might be able to negotiate for a partial refund or a free rescheduling). Since you did not actually take the GMAT, you do NOT need to wait 16 days to schedule your next attempt and this won't count against your 8-attempt lifetime limit.
