Hi khushimahesh,
I'm sorry to hear that you were not allowed to take the GMAT as scheduled. Unfortunately, the policies in place to confirm your identity on Test Day dictate the name on your identification must match with the name on file. Any notable variation in the names could mean that someone else might attempt to take your Test in your place - and viewed in terms of Exam 'security', that possibility simply cannot be allowed.
You can (and should) reach out to Customer Support for a refund, but it's not likely that you will receive one (as an aside, you might be able to negotiate for a partial refund or a free rescheduling). Since you did not actually take the GMAT, you do NOT need to wait 16 days to schedule your next attempt and this won't count against your 8-attempt lifetime limit.
GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
