INTRODUCTION LEAGUE STAGE KNOCKOUT STAGE
In a football tournament, 16 teams are divided into four groups of four teams each. The standing of the 16 teams coming into the tournament is as follows.
I, E, J, P, N, F, A, M, C, D, O, B, L, G, H, K
The format of the tournament consists of League matches followed by Quarter final and Semi Final. The winners of the semi finals then play for the trophy.
In the league stage, each team in a group plays with every other team of that group. Each win gets the winning team 3 points while each draw gives one point to each team. No point is given to the losing team.The top two teams from each group move to the quarter-finals.
The position of the teams at the end of the league stage is as given below

1.Format of the matches in the knockout stage is as given below
Quarter-final:
Match A: Winner of group 1 vs runner-up of group 2.
Match B: Runner-up of group 1 vs winner of group 2.
Match C: Winner of group 3 vs runner-up of group 4.
Match D: Runner-up of group 3 vs winner of group 4.
Semi-final:
SF1: Winner of Match A vs Winner of Match D
SF2: Winner of Match B vs Winner of Match C
2.It is further known that in the knockout stage, there were no upsets, that is a team with a better standing always won over the team with a lower standing.

It also showed up in one of the DI sectional tests in the Elite package as a MSR where two question stems were exactly the same however the options were different. Could not understand what was being asked.
