For this problem they say " Lisa wants to buy enough for all guests, plus 10% extra bottles." However as per OA if we include the case based sell off then it wont be just 10% wouldnt that contradict the statement? I considered 55 bottles as it is and thus landed with 595 as the closest answer.


No, there is no contradiction: 55 bottles is the minimum she wants, but since drinks are sold only in whole cases, she must round up to 5 cases, which gives 60 bottles.

So in such questions its always safe to assume that nothing below the number offered in each cases are sold? Like if another question may say its selling only in dozens then it always sells in dozens kind of thing.

“Sold in cases” means you can buy only whole cases. How else?
