Why is wrong to say that Researcher Y would disagree with statement 3: Significant investments in energy storage solutions can mitigate the challenges of renewable energy intermittency. if we says that " they are not sufficient on their own to meet global energy demands or meaningfully address climate change in the short term. ". So it implicity says it wouldn't mitigate, since it can't meet global demand.

Y criticizes renewables for being insufficient overall, but that doesn’t mean he denies storage can help with intermittency. So he may agree with statement 3, making it wrong to say he would disagree with it.

I don’t quite agree with the solution. Option e says national level supply. But Y agrees that renewable sources are not enough to meet global demand. It could still meet national level demands.

I don’t quite agree with the solution. Option e says national level supply. But Y agrees that renewable sources are not enough to meet global demand. It could still meet national level demands.

Researcher Y says:

“While renewable energy technologies are important, they are not sufficient on their own to meet global energy demands or meaningfully address climate change in the short term.”

He follows up by emphasizing the need for nuclear as base load, implying that renewables on their own are not sufficient even at scale.

The phrase in (E) “without reliance on other sources” is key. Y argues that other sources like nuclear are essential, so he would disagree with the idea that wind and solar alone could support even a national-level energy supply in a stable and scalable way.

So while “global” and “national” are technically different scopes, the underlying logic still applies:

Y doesn’t believe wind and solar on their own can reliably serve as the core of any large-scale energy system, national or global.

Hence, (E) remains the best match for what Y would most likely disagree with.
