Q is asking : What percent of max marks is pass marks?

(1) pass mark : Ian = 3 : 4 & Ian : Max marks 3 : 5. Sufficient! We have the two ratios and we can find the ratio of pass mark : total marks.

(2) No info about pass marks. Insuff

Hence Option (A) is our answer.
