OG states that So X as to Y is not a correct idiom... MGMAT says it is...????

I had read MGMAT-SC say
"so x as to be y",
"so x as to constitute y",
and "so x that y"

"So as x to be y" is fine but not "so as to be".


which OG are you refering? 10th or 11th ed.
Can you mention page in MANHATTAN SC?

I guess the (be) could mean literally be or a verb in the to be form.

To sign
To swim
To eat
etc...
