IE Business School - What´s your opinion

Question

I would like to get your views about IE Business School in Madrid. School is well ranked but quite expensive as well.

What do you think about this school? What´s your opinion?

Hi Carol,

I met very different opinions about IE. It’s ranked high (as you note) and is considered strong in entrepreneurship. The brand is also quite well-known – though this depends on which part of the world or in which industry you are planning to work. And, as with all Spanish schools, you will be at a disadvantage if you don’t know Spanish.

Now, to not-so-good things. I heard that in Spain, IE, despite its high position in rankings, is considered as the weakest from the trio ‘IESE, ESADE, IE’ – mainly in terms of career possibilities it opens after your MBA. I don’t know to which extent this is true; but the talks are quite wide-spread. Perhaps you should talk with somebody familiar with the local market situation in order to get a more grounded opinion.

I’d personally say that whether to choose IE depends on what you’d like to do after your MBA. Without knowing your goals, it’s hard to advise something more specific. If you don’t quite sure in them yourself and just like to keep your options open, then, perhaps, you should target schools with more global reputation – LBS/INSEAD/IMD for Europe.

i would prefer mail, as i can answer specific questions ,as each person will have a specific doubt. Generally speaking, i liked the school, but will be joining Oxford.

Hiya,

As far as I know IE Business school is ranked quite high up on the rankings list, and has some brilliant candidates.

I recently read this story where an MBA candidate had co-authored a white paper on energy efficiency. You can see the story on the BusinessBecause website. I would post the link, but haven't been a member here for too long to be able to post urls.

Go to the businessbecause site - that story is quite impressive and will give a better idea on what studying in IE can produce.

I have heard IE has an internal test also if you don't wish to appear for GMAT... how true is it ? any clue ?

I heard it's very simple test , no monsters like RC and CR .. i don't understnad how would they balance the reception level if the entry criteria are different...

can someone comment pls

Helloo all!

so I am facing a major dilemma- I have gotten accepted into both IE and ESADE for Fall 2011 MSc in International Management and simply cannot take a decision.
I have 5 more days to decide and am at a total loss.

Any opinions???

Hey,
I am currently preparing my application for Master in International Management, February 2012 admission. Is there someone else who is planning to start this program in 2012 ?
Regarding the admission test, I took it and to be honest it's even more difficult than GMAT. It's an unknown structure and really tricky. However, passed it with really good score and I am on the top 15%

School way overpriced for the value if offers. Go to the Nordics, the Netherlands or Switzerland to have better value for the money you invested
