2 + (2/x) = 3 - (3/x)

Multiply throughout by x
2x + 2 = 3x - 3
x = 5

Forget conventional ways of solving math questions. In PS, IVY approach is the easiest and quickest way to find the answer.

If 2 + 2/x = 3 - 3/x, then x =

A. -5
B. 2/3
C. 1
D. 3/2
E. 5

Let 1/x be t. Then the original equation can be changed into 2+2t=3-3t
---> 5t=1 ---> t= 1/5 ---> 1/x = 1/5 ---> x=5.

The answer is, therefore, (E).
