2^x*(1-1/4) = 3*2^13

2^x/2^2 = 2^13

x=15

Simplify on the left:
2^x-2 ( 2^2 - 1)

2^x-2 (2+1)(2-1) = 3 * 2^13

x-2 = 13

x=15

If 2^x - 2^x-2 = 3(2^13). What is x?

2^x(1 - 2^-2)=3(2^13)
2^x(3/4) = 3(2^13)
2^x/4 = 2^13
2^x = 2^15

x =15

a)9 b)11 c)13 d)15 e)17

stem

2^x(1-2^-2) = 3(2^13)

2^x (3/4) = 3(2^13)

2^x = 2^15

x = 15

My answe is D

2^x - 2^x-2 is nothing but 2^x - 2^x/2^2

So take out 2^x common we get 2^x(1-1/2^2) = 2^x(1-1/4) = 2^x*3/4
