20,374 + x is a multiple of 3 means it should get evenly divided by 3
So sum all digits must be divisible by 3
2+0+3+7+4+x shall be divisible by 3
hence x must be 2

Ans: B

Sum of the digits of 20,374 is 2+0+3+7+4 = 16

Now 16 is not a multiple of 3, the next multiple of 3 close to 16 is 18, which is 2 added to 16.

So the least number to be added to 20,374 is 2 :-D

\(\frac{20,374 + x}{3}\)

= \(\frac{20,373 + 1 + x}{3}\)

So, the value of x must be 2 (Minimum) , for the numerator to be completely divisible by 3...

Hence, the correct answer must be (B) 2
