If 4*a^2 = 9 what is the value of a?
4*a^2 = 9;
a^2 = 9/4;
a = 3/2 or a = -3/2
(1) a > 0. a is positive, so a = 3/2. Sufficient.
(2) 4*a = 6 --> a = 6/4. Sufficient.
Answer: D.

This DS question has some great "pattern matching" shortcuts built into. If you recognize the shortcuts, then you don't need to do ANY calculations at all to get to the correct answer.
We're told that 4(A^2) = 9. We're asked for the value of A.
From the given equation, we know that there will be 2 answers (one solution is positive and one is negative), so the answer to the question can only be one of two possibilities.
Fact 1: A > 0
This tells us that A is the "positive option" from the two possibilities.
Fact 1 is SUFFICIENT.
Fact 2: 4A = 6
This is a "one variable, one equation set-up"; there's nothing "special" about it (no absolute values, no exponents, etc.), so there is only ONE solution for A.
Fact 2 is SUFFICIENT.
