a=2b+1/2; 4b=3;
b= 3/4; therefore, a = 2*3/4 + 1/2;
a= 3/2+1/2;
a=4/2; a=2.
Therefore the answer is C

If \(a = 2b +\frac{1}{2}\) and \(4b=3\), what is the value of \(a\) ?

A. \(1\)

B. \(1 \frac{1}{2}\)

C. \(2\)

D. \(2 \frac{1}{2}\)

E. \(3\)
Solution:

Since 4b = 3, then b = 3/4 and thus:

a = 2(¾) + ½ = 3/2 + 1/2 = 4/2 = 2

Answer: C
