a = 3b + c , given A = 17 , C = 2

17 = 3b + 2
15 = 3b
b = 5

Solution

• $$a = 17,$$
• $$c = 2,$$
• We need to find the value of b
• We have, $$a = 3b + c$$
o Substituting the value of a and c in the above equation, we get,
 $$17 = 3*b + 2$$
o Subtracting 2 from both sides, we get,
 $$15 = 3*b$$
o Dividing both sides of the above equation by 3, we get,
 $$b = 5$$
Thus, the correct answer is Option A.
