if a and b are integers and a is even , what is the value of a-b?

(1) a < 3
(2) a/b = 2/7

from one

a could be 0 or 2 ......insuff
from two

a/b is a ratio of 2:7 ie: on the same scale a = 2x and b = 7x

both together

a cant = zero or the ratio given in second statment is not valid

thus a = 2 and a-b = -5

my answer is thus C

I DONT THINK GMAT DEALS WITH SIGNS WHEN IT COMES TO EVEN AND ODD.

IF SOMEONE CAN CLARIFY THIS I LL BE MUCH OBLIGED
