To find whether abc is even we need to know if any one of a or b or c is even.
From statement 1: a+b=even
Case 1: a->odd, b->odd c can be odd, then abc => odd
Case 2: a->even, b->even c be anything abc =>even
No specific outcome. Insufficient
From statement 2: b+c=even
Case 1: b->odd, c->odd a can be odd, then abc => odd
Case 2: b->even, c->even a be anything abc =>even
No specific outcome. Insufficient
If we club the 2 statements together:
Case 1:
a+b=even -> both a and b can be odd
b+c=even -> b odd and c odd
So abc -> odd
