15 and -3 are m related.
Possible value of A-B is
1) -3-15=-18
2) 15-(-3)=18

In both case the factors of 18 are (2,3,6,&9)
4 is not the factor of 18
So M CAN NOT be 4
Answer is C

C.

m is a factor of a-b
Here a = 15 or -3
b = -3 or 15

a-b = (15- (-3)) or ((-3) - 15) = 18 or -18

among options: m could be 2,3,6,9 as all are factors of 18 or -18

only 4 is not a factor

Solution

Given
In this question, we are given that
    • a and b are said to be m-related if m is a factor of a – b

To find
We need to determine
    • If 15 and –3 are m-related, which of the following could NOT be a value of m

Approach and Working out
    • Applying the definition, we get, m is a factor of 15 – (-3) = 18
    • Factors of 18 are 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18
    • Thus, m cannot take the value 4

Thus, Option C is the correct answer.

Correct Answer: Option C
