|a – b| = c
Opening the modulus implies a - b =c and -a+b=c
S1 gives only value of b, so not sufficient.
S2 gives only value of c, so not sufficient.
Combining both gives values of :
a = b+c =9
and a = b-c =-5, hence not sufficient, since we get two values.
Therefore, Ans. is E.

1)b value is given.. But without knowing c value we can't predict the value of a

2)Same as above. you have 3 unknows here.. Knowing only c value will not give any solution

If we combine we'll get b and c values but due to modifier we will get 2 values.

!a-2! = 7

-> a-2=7 and a-2= -7 so we are getting 2 values here. So answer is E
