diameter of muscle cell / diameter of blood cell
= 0.07 / 0.008
=70 / 8
= 8.75

$$\frac{0.07}{0.008}$$
$$= 8.75$$ Answer will be (E)

The diameter of the muscle cell is 0.07/0.008 = 70/8 = 8.75 times the diameter of the blood cell.

Alternate Solution:

We can set up an equation that relates the two entities:

0.07 = 0.008x

70 = 8x

70/8 = x

Looking at the answer choices, we see that it isn’t necessary to actually perform the division. We estimate that x is between 8 and 9.
