If the bigger rectangle has length 12 inches and we need 3 equal rectangles,
we need to divide the length into exactly 3 parts(4 inches each)
Also, given the breadth is 4 inches.
Perimter of each rectangle is 4+4+4+4 = 16(Option C)

rectangle measuring 4 inches by 12 inches is cut into 3 equal rectangles
---->Sides will be 4 inches
---->4*4=16

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b)
=2(4+4)( length is 12/3 = 4, given that 3 equal parts)
=2(8)
=16
