Solution

Given:
• A triangle with a base of 10 ft has the same area as a circle with radius 3 ft

To find:
• The height of the triangle

Approach and Working:
If we assume the height of the triangle as h, then
• Area of the triangle = $$½ * 10 * h = 5h$$

Radius of the circle is 3
• Area of the circle = $$π * 3^2 = 9π$$

As the area of the triangle is same as the area of the circle, we can say
• 5h = 9π
Or, h = 9π/5

Hence, the correct answer is option A.
