Solution

Given:
• The value of x lies in the given range: -10 < x < 10

To find:
• If a value of x is chosen from the given range, the what is the probability that x is even

Approach and Working:
Number of possible values of x in the given range = 19 (-9 to -1: 9 values, 0, 1 to 9: 9 values)
Number of even values in the given range = 9
• Therefore, the probability that x is even = 9/19

Hence, the correct answer is option D.

total integers -10<x<10 = 19
and even -8,-6,-4,-2,0,2,4,6,8 = 9 integers
x is even = 9/19
IMO D

thing to note ; 0 is even integer ..
