Andy can finish a work in 7 hours and Bob can finish the same work in 5 hours. They started doing the work together at 0900 hrs in the morning. They worked together for 2 hours. Let the total work to be done be 35 units.
=> Andy's rate is 5 units per hour, Bob's rate is 7 units per hour, and Candy's rate is 4 units per hour.
Andy and Bob work for 2 hours together, so they complete 2*(7 + 5) = 24 units of work
They wait for an hour when Candy starts to work.
Candy has to complete 11 units of work at a rate of 4 units per hour.
=> Candy takes 11/4 = 2.75 hours.
So, they take a total (2 + 1 + 2.75) hours = 5.75 hours.
So, they finish the work at 14:45.
The answer is (C).
