Let D be the distance between Bob’s home and school.
- • Time taken to cover \(\frac{2}{3}\)rd of the distance at the speed of 5kmph = \(\frac{2}{3}*\frac{D}{5}=\frac{2D}{15}\) hr
• Time taken to cover remaining distance at the speed of 10kmph = \(\frac{D-\frac{2D}{3}}{10} = \frac{D}{30}\) hr
• Total time taken = \(\frac{2D}{15} + \frac{D}{30} = \frac{5D}{30} = \frac{D}{6} hr = \frac{60*D}{6} min = 10*D\) minute
- • \(10*D = 15\)
• \(D = \frac{15}{10} = 1.5\) Km

Let D be the total Distance.
- • Average Speed = \(\frac{D}{\frac{2D}{3*5} + \frac{D}{3*10}} = \frac{D}{\frac{D}{6}} = 6\) kmph
• Time = \(15 min = \frac{15}{60}\) hr
- •Distance travelled = \(speed * time\) = \(6*\frac{15}{60}\) = \(1.5\) Km
