If [a] is the least integer greater than or equal to a, then [-4.5] + [4.5]=
[-1.5]
[-.5]
[0]
[.5]
[1.5]

[-4.5] = -4
[4.5] = 5

so value is 1 which is same as [.5] hence D

Quote:
[-4.5] = -4
[4.5]= 5

[-4.5] + [4.5] = 1

[.5] = 1
so D

Did I miss something here??? :oops:

The question says: [a] > = a or a 1 ([0.5] can not be more than 1 as solved above)

Hence the answer should be E.

What is the OA?
