Solution:
- Hit and trial method. We have to plug different values of k and get 17k as close to 129 as possible
- If \(k=7\), then \(17k=17\times 7=119\) and \(|129-17k|=|129-119|=|10|=10\)
- But if \(k=8\), then \(17k=17\times 8=136\) and \(|129-17k|=|129-136|=|-7|=7\)
Hence the right answer is Option D

The value of the modulus will be least when the term inside the modulus will be least.
Let's say 129 - 17k = 0
Then k = \(\frac{129}{17}\) = 7.XX
So we can just check for 7 and 8.
When
k = 7, |129-119| = 10
k = 8, |129-136| = 7
So, k = 8
